The following information will help students and their parents prepare for athletic participation at Clio High School and Clio Middle School. Please read through the entire page carefully, as it contains answers to many commonly asked questions.

 

ATHLETIC PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS

ACADEMIC ELIGIBILITY

• Passed 5 of 6 classes previous semester
  • This requirement DOES NOT apply to middle school students.
  • This requirement DOES NOT apply to freshmen during the fall season.
• Must be passing 5 of 6 current classes
  • This requirement DOES NOT apply to middle school or high school student-athletes at the beginning of the fall season due to the first day of the season in relation to the start of the school year. However, student-athletes must be passing all classes at the time of the first weekly grade check in September.

DOCUMENTATION

• Physical
  • Valid physicals for the 2025-2026 school year must be dated on or after April 15, 2024. 
  • Physicals are to be uploaded to Student Central. Please DO NOT submit paper copies of your physical to the athletic office. 
• Electronic Registration 
  • Registration paperwork can be completed via Student Central. Both the student and parent/guardian will need to create accounts, which are then linked together, in order to complete the forms. We've created a Student Central Parent and Student Account Set-up Guide with step-by-step instructions for completing this process. If you have any questions, please contact the athletic office or use the Help button on the Student Central website.

STUDENT DEBT

• Student must not owe any outstanding fees or equipment. These items must be taken care of prior to the student being cleared for participation.
• Students and parents/guardians can look in Synergy (under Fees) to check student debt. 

ATHLETIC FEE
The athletic fee is paid once per year and covers all three sports seasons. This fee is due prior to the first competition. For 2025-2026, the athletic fee is:

• High School athletic fee: $50.00
• Middle School athletic fee: $25.00

THERE ARE TWO OPTIONS FOR PAYING THE ATHLETIC FEE.
1. In-Person
    To pay the athletic fee in-person, please visit the athletic office during regular school hours. Cash or check (made payable to Clio Area Schools) are accepted.

2. Online via e-Funds
    To pay the athletic fee online, please visit e-Funds for Schools and follow the instructions on the graphic below.

 

 If a student's family has financial difficulty in paying participation fees, that student will not be denied the opportunity to participate.  Any student who wishes to participate, but is unable to because of financial hardship, should contact the athletic director.
